Her rich and diverse career in concert and opera has taken her to some of the world’s most famous stages including the Metropolitan Opera, Los Angeles Opera, San Francisco Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Le Châtelet in Paris, Sydney Opera House, the Hollywood Bowl and all the major Canadian opera companies. She has performed with such renowned artists as Placido Domingo, Marilyn Horne, Teresa Stratas, Renée Fleming and Maureen Forrester. Catherine Wreford
Broadway Star & Amazing Race Canada Winner
Catherine Wreford was born and raised in Winnipeg and is a true inspiration and a force to be reckoned with. She performed at the Stratford Festival, on Broadway (most notably 42nd Street and Oklahoma—she has also performed at the Tony awards), played roles in movies and TV shows, ran a mortgage company, became a nurse, starred in 10 performances with Rainbow Stage, Dry Cold Productions and choreographed and performed at RMTC. She recently played Princess Diana at Theatre Aquarius and RMTC. On June 24, 2013 she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer after the birth of her second child and was given 2-6 years to live. Undeterred, Catherine defied the odds and embraced her true calling as a performer and a motivational speaker. Her triumph on Season 8 of The Amazing Race Canada, alongside her best friend Craig Ramsay, amplified her mission to raise awareness and find a cure for brain cancer. Catherine is a living testament to the indomitable human spirit, an unwavering advocate for life, and an empowering voice that encourages us all to “run your own amazing race.”

Some of his favourite roles include: Shylock, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Levine (Glengarry Glen Ross), Etgar (Birds of a Kind), Stem (Eureka!) Mendel (Narrow Bridge). Jon Ted Wynne
Bristol Old Vic & Canadian Theatre/Film Legend
Jon Ted Wynne received his formal acting training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in England. While there he was invited to appear with the esteemed Bristol Old Vic company in their production of THE RESISTIBLE RISE OF ARTURO UI at Bristol’s Theatre Royal, the oldest theatre in England (est. 1766.) Upon his return to Canada, JTW resumed his career at the (Royal) Manitoba Theatre Centre, where he had first appeared in a walk-on role in DEATH OF A SALESMAN in 1979. Now a member of Richard Ouzounian’s famed acting company, JTW appeared in seven productions over two seasons, most memorably (alongside Tracy Dahl!) in NICHOLAS NICKLEBY. When film production became an active industry in Manitoba, JTW became an active performer, amassing almost 50 film credits to date. Many highlights along the way, include a production of ARTURO UI, in which JTW realised his dream role, an ambition first fired in the long-ago production with the Bristol Old Vic. Roles since have been diverse: Prospero, Oedipus, several Shakespeare compendia, including WILL’S WORDS, (with his wife, Valerie) a production Gail Asper opined “better than anything seen at Stratford.” In 2018, JTW was invited to co-star at RMTC in their production of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE.

About Looking Glass Theatre
Steinbach's Professional Theatre Company
🎭
Looking Glass Theatre got its start in Community Theatre, as "Looking Glass Productions". Our OG fans will remember the Fringe shows, the camp shows, the university shows, basically any opportunity we could get our hands on. Then, with 15 years of community theatre production behind us, we launched professionally in 2023.
🙋🏼🙋🏻♀️
The company was founded by Marc A. Moir and Laura Kathleen Turner. We both started as performers, and throughout the years have eagerly learned the necessary skills to take on show production. So now, we can take a single idea and produce it from page to stage at a professional level.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
But it's not just about making opportunities for ourselves. There are two other goals that have driven us from the beginning: To create shows that (1) audiences want to see, and (2) actors want to be part of.
😎
Basically, this means that we never choose shows for the sake of pushing an agenda. We find that sort of thing often dilutes the entertainment aspect of theatre, which we're not interested in doing. We think live theatre should be a fun, immersive experience that audiences can escape in to. If they want to pull out a "message" or "meaning" from the play, they totally can! But we're not going to beat you over the head with it.
🤩
And, you'll often see the same actors on stage throughout the season. This is intentional! We have found some of the best actors Manitoba has to offer, and we want to show off their versatility!
🪞
So there you have it! We are Steinbach's professional theatre company: Bringing fun and exciting live theatre to Steinbach, Morden, and Winnipeg, by holding up a mirror (or, "looking glass") to the human experience, and shining a spotlight on all the beauty to be found there.
